In recent years, beeswax has become popular as in ingredient in many natural, herbal deodorants. These deodorants offer a plant-based alternative to the chemicals found in conventional deodorants, which many people are allergic to or find irritating. Beeswax helps the deodorant glide on and stick to your skin. You can make your own herbal deodorant using beeswax and essential oils that have antibacterial properties.

Step 1

Place beeswax and cocoa butter in a glass jar. Fill a bowl large enough to hold the jar with hot water, then immerse the jar in the bowl. Let stand until beeswax has melted.

Step 2

Add essential oils when beeswax and cocoa butter have melted. You may substitute different essential oils; other oils with antibacterial properties include red thyme, oregano, rosewood, cinnamon, tea tree and clove bud. Stir to mix oils, cocoa butter and beeswax thoroughly.

Step 3

Pour mixture into clean deodorant stick case. Let cool and set. If you don't have a spare deodorant stick case, you can store the deodorant in a glass jar and apply with your fingers.

  • Cocoa butter
  • Coconut oil
  • Rosemary essential oil
