How to Prevent Hair Loss Through Natural Remedies

The average person loses an average of 100 hairs per day. However, unhealthy hair can be lost in higher quantities. Brittle and thin hair comes from a range of sources, such as poor nutrition and improper hair care. While incorporating these natural remedies to prevent hair loss, also take a multivitamin supplement to prevent vitamin deficiency. A lack of essential vitamins is directly linked to unnecessary hair loss.

Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse and Gelatin Shampoo

Step 1

Make an apple cider vinegar hair rinse by combining 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water. Apple cider vinegar is full of nutrients, and it balances the pH in the scalp and removes any dead skin cells that could be clogging hair follicles and hindering growth.

Step 2

Pour the apple cider vinegar rinse over your head while you're in the shower, but before you shampoo your hair. Massage your scalp with your fingertips for five minutes so that the vinegar has time to absorb into the scalp. Rinse the vinegar off with water.

Step 3

Add a package of plain gelatin to your regular shampoo and wash your hair with it after the apple cider vinegar hair rinse. Gelatin will strengthen hair and make it thicker and help it grow strong.

Rosemary Oil Treatment

Step 1

Make a rosemary night oil for hair and apply to the scalp and ends before bed. Combine 3 tbsp. of dried rosemary leaves in 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil. Heat the oil in the microwave for one minute and set the oil mixture aside for two days.

Step 2

Strain the solids out of the rosemary oil mixture and apply it to the scalp and ends of clean, damp hair. Cover your head with a shower cap and let the oil sit on your hair overnight. Rosemary boosts circulation in the scalp to encourage growth, while olive oil clarifies the scalp to prevent hair loss and dandruff.

Step 3

Wash the rosemary oil out of your hair by shampooing as usual the next morning. When drying your hair, blot it gently with a towel. Rubbing your hair with a towel can lead to more hair loss.

Tips and Warnings

  • Massage your scalp every time you shampoo or apply oil to your hair. Massage will increase circulation and blood flow to stimulate the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.
  • Stay away from hair products with alcohol in them. This dries out the hair and can contribute to hair loss.
