How to Put a Visor on a Lacrosse Helmet

Lacrosse helmets commonly have a small visor attached to the brow to protect the player's eyes from the sun, according to "Lacrosse For Dummies." The visor usually matches the color of the helmet when purchased, according to "The Confident Coach's Guide to Teaching Lacrosse: From Basic Fundamentals to Advanced Player Skills and Team Strategies," but can be removed and replaced with a visor of another color according to player preference or team colors. The process is simple and takes only a few minutes.

Step 1

Locate the screws on the inside of the helmet that hold the visor in place. There will typically be one screw on each side of the helmet, according to "Lacrosse For Dummies."

Step 2

Unscrew both screws from the helmet. Set them in a safe place where they will not be lost because they will be required to attach the new visor to the helmet.

Step 3

Pull the cage of the lacrosse helmet away gently or slide the cage down, depending on how your helmet functions, to allow you to remove the visor from the lacrosse helmet.

Step 4

Remove the old visor from the lacrosse helmet.

Step 5

Align the new visor over the helmet with the holes resting over the holes for the screws.

Step 6

Screw the visor in place with the old screws and screwdriver.

Step 7

Return the helmet's cage to its original position.
