Denver, Colorado, is a social skier's paradise. Whether you're a tourist or a local, the snowy scenery provides a friendly atmosphere for meeting singles with an interest in experiencing all Denver has to offer. From skiing to sport social clubs and even dinner dating at some of Colorado's finest restaurants, the city is welcoming to singles who like to stay active.

Skiing

Colorado is famed for its winter sports, so take advantage of the rugged mountain scenery to meet fellow snow lovers. Denver has a number of ski clubs that place an emphasis on developing a social scene alongside providing events and facilities for skiers. One of the largest ski clubs, Up the Creek provides buses to various slopes and hosts free food evenings and many other social events.

Cycling

Denver Bicycling Touring Club regards cycling as a social activity. The club hosts events throughout the year and a restaurant meal after every ride. Rides start at many different spots all over the city, and you don't need to be a member to take part. As well as being an opportunity to hang out with other cyclists, it's an effective way to see the city and linger over a meal with some of Denver's most eligible.

Sport Social Clubs

A good way to meet potential partners in a welcoming environment is to join a sports league. Teams are assembled from applicants in the local area who play each other in friendly competition. In Denver, Sports Monster is the largest organization that runs such events. Most of the leagues are under $5 to join, as of 2010, and Sports Monster supplies the facilities and the singles.

Dancing

Twice a month, Denver Ballroom Dancing organizes events at the Denver Kickers club. More than 200 people typically attend these dances so there are plenty of opportunities to meet new people from the area with no pressure, and it's also open to couples. Alternatively, Rocky Mountain Swing Dance Club offers dances at 6:30 p.m. every Sunday, with free optional lessons an hour beforehand.

Dinner Dates

Dinner for Six is a dating program designed for Denver working professionals who find it hard to fit socializing into a busy schedule. Six strangers -- three men and three women -- go to the same restaurant to eat and chat without the pressure of one-on-one blind dates, thus supplying an opportunity to meet friends as well as partners. Dinner for Six arranges four to six dinners per week, as well as other weekend events such as wine tasting and theater trips.
