Calorie List of Fruits

When it comes to nutritious and portable foods that taste good and are easy to digest, nothing beats the wide variety of fruits available in your local supermarket. From the common to the exotic, there are literally hundreds of healthy choices you can bring with you on your next backpacking or ski trip. Fruits generally travel well, come in their own packaging and are easy to find. Here's a partial list of some of the most popular fruits, categorized by caloric content, from high to low.

High Calorie Fruits

The great thing about fruits is that you can eat any of them at any meal. You can also combine low calorie fruits with high calories fruits to even out the total caloric content. Some of the highest (with their caloric content in parenthesis) include avocados (150), bananas (107), inverted dates with sugar (250 calories for 100 g) and grapefruit (100).

Medium Calorie Fruits

Fruits with less than 100 calories per serving include apples (44), blueberries (49 calories per 100g), seedless grapes (50 calories per 100g), mango (40), nectarines (42), diced papaya (67 cals for 20g) and tangerines (26).

Low Calorie Fruits

Low calorie fruits generally have less than 50 calories per serving. These include blackberries (1 calorie each), cherries (2.4 calories each), dates (5 calories per 5g), figs (10), lemons (20), orange (25), peach (35), plums (25) tomatoes (9).
