Jasmine rice is a variety of long-grain rice that originates from Thailand. It contains less amylopectin than other varieties of rice and is therefore less sticky. Jasmine rice is common in stir-fry dishes, where stickiness is an undesirable trait. The nutritional content of jasmine rice is generally similar to that of other types of rice.
