How to Drink Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass contains high levels of natural vitamins and minerals, according to the American Cancer society. Its nutrient density makes wheatgrass a healthful inclusion in your diet. However, the American Cancer Society also notes there is very little evidence that drinking wheatgrass works as a treatment for illnesses. Drink wheatgrass juice if you want to take advantage of all the vitamins and minerals that it provides.

Step 1

Place a handful of wheatgrass in your juicer to extract the wheatgrass juice. Continuing adding wheatgrass until you have juiced your desired amount.

Step 2

Measure 1 oz. of wheatgrass juice and pour it into your cup.

Step 3

Drink the wheatgrass juice slowly.

Step 4

Mix the wheatgrass juice with another type of juice if you do not like the taste of it on its own. Wheatgrass has a strong flavor and can be an acquired taste.

Tips and Warnings

  • You should drink wheatgrass juice on an empty stomach to avoid it causing nausea. Wait at least 30 minutes after meal before consuming. Begin by only drinking 1 oz. of wheatgrass juice a day. Wheatgrass juice is very potent and can act as a laxative and cause nausea if you drink too much of it before you body builds a tolerance to it.
