Protein rich snacks are available in many varieties. Some are prepackaged, and others can be made in your kitchen. Your daily intake of protein should be 0.8 grams per kilogram of weight. For instance, an adult weighing 60 kilograms (132 pounds) will require 48 grams of protein per day. Protein is the body's source of energy and helps maintain muscle growth.

Snack Sandwiches

An egg salad sandwich is an excellent source of protein. One hard-boiled egg with a tablespoon of mayonnaise on wheat bread contains about nine grams of protein. Peanuts are also high in protein. Half of a peanut butter sandwich with jelly will be satisfying and filling until your next meal.

Protein Bars

Protein bars offer convenience in the form of prepared, packaged portions. They can be eaten on the go or after a workout. Many are made with oats, graham flour and peanuts, and some include honey or chocolate. They curb the appetite and provide 10 to 50 grams of daily protein.

Protein Shakes

Protein shakes come in many flavors, such as chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. The shakes come prepared in cans, or can be made from powder and milk. Protein shakes also contain vitamins and minerals that are required in your daily diet. Served over ice, protein shakes offer a refreshing, hydrating snack during summer months or after a workout.
