Hershey's Kisses have been around for more than a hundred years; the first silver-wrapped candies rolled off the production line in 1907, according to Hershey's. The current, classic milk-chocolate formula has been in place since 1931, and production has stopped only once during the candy's history: Hershey's ceased making Kisses between 1942 and 1949 due to wartime silver foil rationing. There are several different varieties of Hershey's Kisses, all of which have different caloric, fat, sugar and calcium content.
Milk Chocolate (Original)
A single, nine-piece serving of original milk chocolate Hershey's Kisses, contains 200 calories, half of which are from the 12 grams of fat contained in the serving, as Hershey's states on its website. A serving also contains 7 grams of saturated fat, 25 grams of carbohydrates--including 23 grams of sugar--and 8 percent of your daily value of calcium. The fat content constitutes 18 percent of the daily value of fat recommended for a 2,000-calorie diet, while the saturated fat content constitutes 35 percent of daily value.
Hugs
A single serving of Hugs, which incorporates white chocolate swirled with the original milk chocolate, packs 210 calories in nine Kisses. The fat content is the same as in original kisses--12 grams of fat, including 7 grams of saturated fat. A serving also includes 24 grams of carbs, of which 21 grams are sugar, and 10 percent of your daily value of calcium, according to the Hershey's company.
Milk Chocolate with Almond
Nine Milk Chocolate Kisses with Almonds contain 210 calories, 120 of which are from the 14 grams of fat, including 7 grams of saturated fat--22 percent and 35 percent of your recommended daily value of fat and saturated fat, respectively. A serving also 21 grams of carbs, including 19 grams of sugar, and 8 percent of your daily value of calcium.
Special Dark
Switching over to Special Dark Kisses saves you 20 calories per serving over the milk chocolate variety, but you don't get any calcium in the dark chocolate. A nine-piece serving includes 180 calories, 12 grams of fat--of which 8 grams are saturated fat--and 25 grams of carbs that include 21 grams of sugar.
Cherry Cordial
Opting for Cherry Cordial Kisses guarantees you both a lower fat and lower caloric content than original Kisses. A nine-piece serving includes 180 calories and 7 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of which are saturated. A serving also contains 30 grams of carbs--including 26 grams of sugar--and 4 percent of your daily value of calcium.
Other Nutrients
Hershey's Kisses also include some protein and dietary fiber. The protein content varies between 4 and 8 percent of your daily value, and the dietary fiber content rings in between 4 and 12 percent of your daily value, depending on the variety of Kisses.
