3 Day Cleanse Diets

With the rise in obesity, diet and health gurus have come up with an abundance of weight-loss plans to suit most lifestyles. However, weight loss isn't the only ultimate goal. Cleansing the body's systems after years of toxic buildup is equally important. Getting rid of harmful chemicals you've ingested over the years will help you attain optimum health. One of the best ways to clean out your system so your body performs at its peak is a cleansing regime.

Mucusless Diet

Dr. John R. Christopher has developed a plan to help rid the body of toxins. He recommends a cleansing program that eliminates all foods that form mucus. On his website, HerbalLegacy.com, he recommends eating and drinking prune juice and living, raw fruits, vegetables, grains and olive oil. Dr. Christopher claims that a feeling of weakness during such a cleansing is normal because the body is putting all of its energy into getting rid of waste.

Liver-Cleanse Diet

Liver function is important to improve the body's ability to properly utilize sugar and burn fat. On the first day, according to Dietivity.com, you must adhere to a strict regime of alternating drinking a mixture of cranberry juice, water, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, orange juice and lemon juice and ground flax seed with water. On days two and three, eat a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs with vegetables, an orange and water with lemon juice. Lunch is a salad with a small amount of protein, and dinner is similar, with vegetables and protein. Snacks include yogurt with fruit and flax seeds or a baked apple with cinnamon and nutmeg.

Master Cleanse Diet

According to the program on TheMasterCleanse.org, there are three phases to the program---the ease in, the lemonade diet and the ease out. The ease-in phase enables the body and mind to prepare for fewer calories. The next step is to consume a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, cayenne pepper and water---and nothing else---for three to ten days. Tom Woloshyn, author of "The Complete Master Cleanse," also recommends flushing the body with sea salt during the program. The ease out part of the plan helps the body get back to healthy eating without too much of a shock to the system.
