Life Fitness produces a variety of exercise equipment, including two lines of treadmills, one for commercial use and the other targeted to the home user. The operating procedure remains fairly consistent between the two lines; if you want to perform a basic workout, you need only activate the device and input a few desired settings. However, should you plan to use the device on a regular basis, you may wish to input a custom program, to save you the trouble of manually configuring the device each time you use it.
Basic Operation
Step 1
Clip the treadmill's magnetized key to your waistband. Stand on the two side rails attached to the treadmill's deck. Insert the key into the matching indentation on the treadmill's console. Press the "Start" or "Walk" button, depending on which is available on your model of treadmill. Hold onto the treadmill's grips or hand rails, then begin walking on the belt.
Step 2
Press the "Jog" or "Run" button to increase the speed of the workout, if desired. Alternatively, use the two "Speed" buttons to adjust the speed of the walking belt by increments of 0.1 miles per hour.
Step 3
Press the "Low," "Medium" or "High" button to adjust the end of the treadmill's deck to the desired level. Alternatively, use the two "Incline" buttons to adjust the incline setting by increments of 0.5 percent.
Step 4
Continue your workout for as long as desired, then press the "Stop" button to slow the walking belt down until it stops moving. Remove the treadmill's key from the console and step off the deck.
Preprogrammed Workout
Step 1
Clip the treadmill's magnetized key to your waistband. Stand on the two side rails attached to the treadmill's deck. Insert the key into the matching indentation on the treadmill's console. Press the "Start" or "Walk" button, depending on which is available on your model of treadmill. Hold onto the treadmill's grips or hand rails, then begin walking on the belt.
Step 2
Press the "Workout Profile" button repeatedly until you see the name of your desired workout appear on the console's display. Press the "Enter" button to select the workout. Use the two arrow buttons located next to the "Workout Profile" button to input your current weight, then press the "Enter" button.
Step 3
Use the arrow buttons to select the desired workout duration, incline and speed settings; press the "Enter" button to confirm each selection. Begin the workout.
Step 4
Complete the workout, or press the "Stop" button to slow the walking belt down until it stops moving. Remove the treadmill's key from the console and step off the deck.
