Apple cider vinegar is created during the fermentation process of apples. It has been used as a health tonic for centuries, according to Bragg.com. Raw apple cider vinegar contains vitamins C, E, A, B1, B2 and B6, plus iron, calcium, magnesium, sulphur and copper. Apple cider vinegar consumption provides many health benefits, including balancing pH, skin and hair care, maintaining cholesterol levels and weight loss. Different theories exist as to how apple cider vinegar aids in weight loss, ranging from it being an appetite suppressant, to increasing metabolism, to improving digestion. Consult your doctor before adding apple cider vinegar to your diet.

Step 1

Obtain apple cider vinegar that has been made from double fermented whole apples. Choose apple cider vinegar that has not been pasteurized, filtered or distilled to achieve the best results, says Apple-Cider-Vinegar-Benefits.com. Choose apple cider vinegar that is cloudy in appearance; clear vinegar has little nutritional value.

Step 2

Pour distilled water into a glass, then add 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar. Mix it together with a spoon.

Step 3

Drink the apple cider vinegar and water mixture 30 minutes before your meal. Add 1 tsp. of honey to sweeten if you do not like the flavor.

Step 4

Maintain a healthy diet aside from the apple cider vinegar drinks. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean meats and healthy fats.

Step 5

Exercise regularly to burn calories and keep your muscles toned. Walk, run, swim, bike or play a sport several times per week for optimum results.
