Candida Yeast Support Ingredients

Candida yeast support is a supplement marketed as a treatment for vaginal yeast infections, tongue thrush, nail fungus, fatigue, skin rash, gas, jock itch, unfocused thinking and sinus problems. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) does not approve of candida yeast support or any other supplement to treat any disease. Candida yeast support contains three probiotics (bacteria that are healthy for humans) as well as vitamins and herbs.

Bacillus Coagulans

Candida yeast support contains 200 million colony forming units (CFU) of bacillus coagulans. Bacillus coagulans is a gram positive rod-shaped bacteria and produces lactic acid. Bacillus coagulans is resistant to gastric acid and outcompetes the yeast causing candida fungi in the small intestine.

Bacillus Subtilis

Candida yeast support contains 25 million CFU of bacillus subtilis. Bacillus subtilis is a gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria that is effective at strengthening the immune system and promoting health. According to Dr. Kaslow, a physician devoted to long-term health care, bacillus subtilis releases a chemical called surfactin that destroys the lipid (fatty) envelope or membrane around many viruses, mycoplasms and bacteria, including herpes, HIV and candida.

Enterococcus Faecium

Candida yeast support contains 50 million CFU of enterococcus faecium. Enterococcus faecium is a gram positive spherical bacteria that produces lactic acid. Enterococcus faecium is resistant to gastric acid, and thus makes it to the small intestine where it normalizes the pH. Enterococcus faecium normalizes the bacterial flora of the intestines because it can reproduce rapidly in acidic conditions, outcompeting harmful bacteria such as e. coli and fungus such as candida. Enterococcus faecium also stimulates the immune system.

Vitamins

Candida yeast support includes four vitamins: 75 mg of vitamin C, 400 mg of thiamine or vitamin B1, 400 mg of riboflavin or vitamin B2 and 400 mg of vitamin B6. Vitamin C enhances the immune system to fight the candida infection. Vitamins B1, B2 and B6 are included because vitamin B deficiency can provide an environment for candida to flourish.

Other Ingredients

Candida yeast support contains fructooligosaccharides (FOS) as well as 215 mg of the inner bark of ulmus fulva. FOS are included to feed the active bacteria and keep them alive. According to Dr. Kathi Kemper, ulmus fulva is an herb used to treat throat irritation, skin rash, ulcers and is included in a anti-cancer supplement.
