Beef tenderloin is long, slender muscle that is butchered from the loin of a steer. Also known as a tenderloin roast, this cut of meat is often cut down into steaks, the most famous of which is the filet mignon. Relatively lean, with a mild beef flavor, finer texture and more tender than many beef cuts, beef tenderloin provides many nutrients that the body requires.
