If you're a serious hiker or runner, or just want to enjoy a stroll in comfort, one of the most important things to know is which shoes are best for you. New Balance 471 Trail shoes are a type of fitness shoe that may suit your needs. Although as of September 2010 they are no longer being made, New Balance 471 Trail shoes can still be found through online retailers.

Features

The New Balance 471 shoes are made mainly of synthetic leather in conjunction with mesh webbing in specific areas to allow for breathability. The toe and soles are rubber. The insole is made of foam for optimum comfort and does offer some arch support and flexibility. These shoes are low-cut, as opposed to many other hiking-type shoes.

Use

Although these shoes ride low on the ankle, they are designed to offer ankle support. With their rubber treads, they should provide a strong grip while you hike. The mesh is also designed to keep feet relatively cool and dry. Because they are made of durable synthetic materials, they should hold up to strenuous hiking or other outdoor activities.

Cost

New Balance 471 shoes can be purchased online or at some retail stores. They cost around $40 to $60.
