Your feet are prime candidates for fungal infections, which thrive in moist, dark environments. Fungus can give your feet an odor and cause the skin to become dry and cracked. If you have a foot fungus, kill it with a foot powder made from tea tree and peppermint oils. According to Amy Rost's book "Natural Wisdom & Know How: Useful Practices Recipes and Formulas for a Lifetime of Health," both oils have antifungal and healing properties that can help kill fungus and relieve its symptoms.

Step 1

Pour 1/4 cup of talcum powder into a plastic sandwich bag. Add 10 drops of peppermint oil and 10 drops of tea tree oil to the talcum powder.

Step 2

Seal the plastic bag. Massage the sealed bag in between the palms of your hands to disperse the peppermint oil into the talcum powder.

Step 3

Allow the mixture to sit for 24 hours, which will give the talcum powder time to absorb the peppermint oil.

Step 4

Shake the bag well before use. Pour a quarter-sized amount of the peppermint talc fungal powder into the palm of your hand.

Step 5

Pat the powder onto your foot. Repeat the process on your other foot. Apply the peppermint fungal powder to your feet after every shower to inhibit fungal growth.

Tips and Warnings

  • If you do not have talcum powder, substitute baking soda. Store the peppermint fungal powder in your refrigerator in between uses.
  • Dust in between your toes with the peppermint foot powder. Darkness and moisture in between your toes is the perfect environment for fungus to grow.
