How to Use an Epilady

Epilady produces electric hair removers or epilators. Their first product was launched in 1986. Epilators come as corded, battery powered or rechargeable units, all in a convenient hand-held size. Epilating takes longer than shaving---usually 15 to 20 minutes per leg---but the results also last much longer, up to four weeks. Epilating also causes the hair to grow back more slowly, softer and lighter over time.

Step 1

Press the power button to turn on your Epilady epilator. If you're using an Epilady Epic epilator, move the colored plastic cover away from the epilating head.

Step 2

Touch the head of the epilator to your skin where you'd like to remove the hair.

Step 3

Hold the Epilady at a slight angle---about 5 degrees---to your skin as you gently move it back and forth over the hair to be removed. Don't press down on the epilator; just let it touch your skin.

Step 4

Switch the Epilady off, once you're done, by pushing the power button again.

Step 5

Clean the Epilady by first blowing any extra loose hairs off the top with a strong puff of breath. Then remove the top from over the epilating heads, once again blow the hair from the heads, then snap the top back into place. Always clean the Epilady after every use.
