CPK Lettuce Wraps Nutrition Information

California Pizza Kitchen, or CPK, is a casual-dining restaurant chain known for its signature hearth-baked pizzas, creative salads and made-to-order pasta dishes. As of Fall 2010, lettuce wraps are one of eight appetizers on CPK's menu. Diners can order the lettuce wraps with chicken, shrimp or a combination of chicken and shrimp. The dish includes four wraps served with crispy rice noodles and sauce.

Ingredients

CPK lettuce wraps are made with lettuce, diced water chestnuts, green onions, diced shitake mushrooms, canola oil, chili oil, chicken and/or shrimp. They are served with a spicy chili-ginger sauce and crispy rice noodles.

Allergens

The chili-ginger sauce that is served with the lettuce wrap appetizer contains wheat and soy. If you are allergic to either of those two ingredients, be aware that the sauce is actually cooked with the lettuce wraps before being served "on the side." If you have other allergy issues, contact CPK directly before ordering this appetizer.

Serving Size

Each appetizer order comes with four lettuce wraps. CPK does not offer a suggested serving size, but rather provides nutritional information for the entire appetizer as served, including the noodles and sauce.

Calories

As served, the lettuce wrap with chicken contains 911 calories, with 2 g of saturated fat and 36 g of protein. The lettuce wrap with shrimp has 895 calories, with 1 g of saturated fat and 41 g of protein. If you order the appetizer with both chicken and shrimp, it contains 1,054 calories, 2 g of saturated fat and 65 g of protein. Use this information to calculate the nutritional information for the portion size you select. You can probably reduce your calorie intake by avoiding the sauce or crispy noodles; however, CPK does not provide nutritional information for the individual appetizer components.

Sodium Content

CPK's lettuce wraps have a higher sodium content than nearly every other appetizer on the menu. The lettuce wraps with chicken have 2,667 mg of sodium, while the wraps with shrimp have 2,790 mg and the combination wraps have 2,877 mg. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the recommended daily limit for sodium is 1,500 mg for middle-aged and older adults, individuals with high blood pressure, as well as African Americans. Younger adults not in a high-risk group should consume no more than 2,300 mg per day. High levels of sodium in the diet can cause high blood pressure and increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, so consider sodium content when determining appetizer portion size.
