EAS protein powder gained recognition through its use in Body-for-Life, a 12-week challenge in which people follow a low-fat diet and weight-training program to transform themselves. EAS protein powders are composed of whey, a by-product of cheese-making, or soy. The powders come in vanilla, chocolate and other flavors, and mix well with liquids.

Most people don't need protein supplements, but protein powder offers nutritional convenience for athletes, bodybuilders, dieters and people with low appetites, such as seniors and people with cancer or HIV.

Protein Drink

Step 1

Find the scoop included in the EAS Protein Powder to measure the correct portion size listed on the nutrition label. Reach into the bottom of the container, if you don't see the scoop when you open it. Often the scoop gets buried in the protein powder.

Step 2

Dip the scoop into the EAS protein powder to fill the scoop. The scoop measures one serving. The EAS whey protein scoop measures 30g of protein powder and contains 23g of protein per serving. The scoop for EAS soy protein powder measures 44g of protein powder; it has 20g of protein per serving.

Step 3

Pour water, milk or juice into a blender, glass or sports bottle.

Step 4

Add the EAS protein powder to the liquid.

Step 5

Blend, stir or shake the protein drink for a slow count of 30 to mix it.

Recipes

Step 1

Measure EAS protein powder by the tablespoon for recipes. For example, the Doctor Atkins' New Diet Cookbook includes a low-carb torte recipe that calls for 1 tbsp. whey protein powder.

Step 2

Dip a measuring tablespoon into the EAS protein powder. Shake the measuring spoon gently to remove excess protein powder until the powder is level across the top of the tablespoon and not rounded. Alternatively, use the back of a butter knife to level the protein powder across the top of the measuring spoon.

Step 3

Measure EAS protein powder with a measuring cup for recipes calling for a quarter-cup or more of protein powder. Scoop up the protein powder with the cup. Fill the measuring cup to the top, or to the line indicating the correct measurement, such as the line for a half cup on a glass measuring cup.

Step 4

Hold the cup at eye level to check that the protein powder is level.

Tips and Warnings

  • Measure protein powder by cup measurements, such as a quarter, third or half cup, not by ounces. Ounces marked on measuring cups are for liquid ounces.
  • Avoid excessive protein consumption. Consult with your doctor about health concerns and dietary changes.
