Naval Air Station Key West is located in the southern tip of Florida. It consists of several locations, including Peary Court, Sigsbee Park Annex, Trumbo Point, Truman Annex, Boca Chica Field, the Key West Naval Branch Health Clinic and a variety of other properties in the Keys. You can find camping facilities in Sigsbee Park Annex, where campers have easy access to some of the best activities in the area.

Accommodations

There are 93 serviced RV sites, 20 tent camping sites and 550 overflow sites at the Key West Naval Air Station. Thanks to the mild year-round temperatures, the campground is available all year long. Each of the serviced RV sites offers a concrete pad and is wide enough to facilitate the slide-outs on even the larger rigs, giving campers extra room to relax after enjoying all of the area activities. Reservations for the serviced sites are highly recommended and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Amenities

Each of the 93 serviced RV sites offers water, electric and sewer hookups. There are 20 tent camping sites without utility hookups. In addition, there are 550 overflow RV campsites that do not have services; however, there is a central dump station and water fill station. A central bathhouse and four pay-to-use laundry facilities are especially handy after a long day exploring the Key West area. Free Wi-Fi is also available for campers during their stay.

On-Site Activities

Naval Air Station Key West offers a variety of on-site activities for campers to enjoy. If boating is one of your favorite activities, be sure to visit the boat rental marina. Spend the day fishing, water skiing, wakeboarding, or just cruising the Keys. The crystal clear waters at the park are perfect for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving. Bring the children along and spend time playing on the campground's on-site playground as well.

Aquatic Preserve

While in the Key West area, don't miss a paddling opportunity to explore Coupon Bight Aquatic Preserve. It's the United State's southernmost aquatic preserve, encompassing 4,600 acres of seagrass meadows, and is part of the Seagrass Outreach Program. This biologically diverse natural preserve consists of seagrass beds and shallow patch reefs. Educational signs are posted near fishing sites and near and adjacent to the preserve to better educate visitors to this area and the environmental and financial importance of the preserve.

Other Area Activities

The tropical sun and warm clear waters make the Key West area a haven of outdoor activities. Scuba divers can appreciate the coral reefs in the area as well as the numerous ship wrecks. Most dive sites even offer mooring buoys for divers. The Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary is a popular dive destination. This area is also a fisherman's paradise. Inshore fishermen will find bonefish, tarpon and Spanish mackerel. Offshore, you can fish for grouper, mahi-mahi, wahoo, and tuna.
