The New Jersey Shore is a popular summer destination for its beaches, such as Long Beach Island, Ocean City and Brigantine. Route 9 runs parallel to the coast through most of New Jersey, close to the beaches and attractions, such as Atlantic City. If you travel by RV, would like to rent a cabin or even pitch a tent, you will find many campgrounds and RV parks along Route 9.
Locations
Sea Pirate Campground is located in West Creek, about eight miles away from Long Beach Island and a half hour from Atlantic City. The campground, open from May 1 to November 1, offers full hook-up, 30 and 50-amp sites, tent camping sites, plus a variety of cabins and cottages. Blueberry Hill RV Resort, located in Port Republic, is open April 1 to October 31 and has RV and tent sites that provide both sun and shade. RV rentals are also available to accommodate four or six guests. Holly Acres RV Park is located in Egg Harbor City and open from April 15 to October 31, offers 30 and 50-amp, full hook-up sites, plus cabins and a limited number of sites for tent camping.
Amenities
All three campgrounds offer cable television, swimming pools, camp stores and playgrounds for your little ones. You will find wireless Internet spots, showers, laundry facilities and security gates at both Blueberry Hill and Holly Acres. Sea Pirate features boat and kayak rentals, a stocked fishing pond, arcade and game room, propane sales and a snack bar. At Blueberry Hill you can relax in the adult spa, visit the ice cream and coffee shop or see what is happening in the activity lodge. Holly Acres features an air-conditioned adult lounge, miniature golf course, pond, pavilion, game room, dump station and a blueberry field. Sea Pirate and Blueberry Hill are pet-friendly campgrounds.
Cabins
The "Bare Bones" cabins at Sea Pirate are available as one or two rooms that can accommodate up to six guests. They include air conditioning, cable television hook-up, small refrigerator, picnic table, grill, fire ring and covered deck. Deluxe cabins and cottages include a bathroom, equipped kitchen and separate bedroom, plus cable television and heat. Guests must provide their own linens and bedding for cabins and cottages. The RV rentals at Blueberry Hill also do not include linens.
Activities
Campground activities at Sea Pirate include fishing, crabbing, boating basketball, baseball, volleyball and scheduled activities, such as movies, bingo, arts and crafts, karaoke, hay rides and dances. Blueberry Hill has basketball, bocce ball, horseshoes and scheduled activities. Holly Acres features biking, volleyball, softball, shuffleboard, horseshoes and planned activities, such as bingo, pancake breakfasts, dances, contests and games and bonfires.
Attractions
Area attractions include Renault Winery, Chestnut Boatyard on Mullica River, Storybook Lane, Smithville Village, Ocean City Boardwalk, Cape May Ferry, Brigantine Marine Mammal Stranding Center, Wheaton Village and public golf courses.
