A new trend in detox products is the use of adhesive patches applied to the soles of the feet. The patches are infused with herbal ingredients which are intended to draw out toxins from the body. You can purchase detox foot pads over-the-counter, but keep in mind the FDA has not evaluated the products for effectiveness.

Kinoki Cleansing Foot Pads

Kinoki is a well-known manufacturer of detox foot pads. The line of detox patches are sold through retail and online stores, such as Amazon.com and Target. Herbal ingredients, like wood vinegar absorb into the skin once the patch is applied and the company claims heavy metals, metabolic waste and other toxins will be drawn out of the skin. A new foot pad is applied each evening.

Verseo Detox Foot Patches

A wood vinegar essence and tourmaline are listed as the main ingredients in these detox foot patches. Purported benefits of the Verseo patches include arthritis relief, more energy, less stress, better concentration and headache relief. Due to reflexology points on the feet, you are recommended by the manufacturer to apply the product directly to the soles. At night, you adhere the foot pad to the soles and then discard when you wake in the morning. The manufacturer advises that you may use as many as three patches at a time to detoxify the body.

BodyPure Detox Foot Pads

This foot pad is marketed as the number-one selling detox product in Japan. Active ingredients include bamboo vinegar extract, tourmaline, citronella, diatomaceous earth and dextrin. The foot pads are supposed to help remove toxic chemicals that may be causing your health issues. Smooth on the pads to the soles of the feet at night after you have cleaned and dried the area. Leave the pad on overnight and remove in the morning. You may notice a brown discoloration appear on the pad. The manufacturer claims that this is the proof of the product's effectiveness.
