Finding a pill and not knowing what it is can be disconcerting. It may be a matter of curiosity, or you may wonder what medications are being used in your house. This can be especially difficult when you have only limited information, as there are many pills on the market with an imprint of "832." Fortunately, there are resources to help you identify mystery pills.
Step 1
Take the pill to a pharmacist. Although there is a vast array of medications (Drugs.com lists 69 different pills with "832" imprinted on them) and it may be difficult for a pharmacist to identify your pill, these professionals are very knowledgeable and may be able to help. Often the pharmacist may be able to guess the type of medication you have if there are letters imprinted on the pill as well ("WRF" often means warfarin, "BAC" is for baclofen).
Step 2
Either take the pill with you to to the computer or write down all of its characteristics (including size, shape, color and other distinguishing markings). Enter the pill's number ("832") into the imprint section of an online pill identifier (such as that from rxlist.com or drugs.com). Hit "Submit" to see a listing of all of the different pills with "832" written on them.
Step 3
Compare the pills that appear (the Drugs.com identifier will show you pictures of 69 different pills, whereas the Rxlist.com identifier will give you 13 different drugs with an "832" imprint) to your pill.
Step 4
If you wish to narrow your results, enter the pill's characteristics into the online pill identifier (such as that from Rxlist.com or Drugs.com) and resubmit to see a narrower list of medications.
