Arby's opened in 1964 as an alternative to fast-food restaurants serving hamburgers and french fries. The original Arby's offered roast beef sandwiches and potato chips and the restaurant is still known for its oven-roasted beef, despite many additions to the menu. Arby's Roastburger sandwiches are a twist on the traditional roast beef sandwich, with new toppings and a toasted specialty roll rather than the standard sesame seed bun.
Varieties
Arby's Roastburger comes in three varieties. All include roast beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion and char grill seasoning on a toasted roll. The all-American adds mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup and dill pickle. The bacon cheddar sandwich adds cheddar cheese and pepper bacon, while the bacon & bleu adds bleu cheese spread and pepper bacon.

Arby's offers a "double meat" option for any Roastburger order. This will add 120 calories, 8 g of fat and 520 mg of sodium to your sandwich.
