Step 2

Comb out any tangles before your wash your wig. Use a wide-tooth comb or a wig brush. If the tangles are difficult to remove, use a spray detangler.

Step 3

Wash your wig in a sink or large bowl filled with cool water. Add about 2 oz. of wig cleaner to the water. Use a wig cleaner formulated for your wig type, either human hair or synthetic. Swish the wig in the water for a minute, and then allow it to soak for 10 minutes. Use an old, soft toothbrush to remove any makeup along the hairline.

Store your wig on a wig stand so that it will maintain its shape and style. Place the wig in a clean, dust-free place away from heat and humidity. Avoid placing the wig in a plastic bag or box. Never use heated styling appliances on a wig.
