Ephedra, or ephedrine, is a substance that elicits weight loss when combined with caffeine, according to the Mayo Clinic. Ephedra carries major safety concerns including high blood pressure, asphyxiation, heart attack and stroke. On February 6, 2004, the Food and Drug Administration issued a final declaration banning the sale of dietary supplements containing ephedra, because they carry an unnecessary risk of extreme side effects.

Eph 100

Eph 100 is a weight loss supplement manufactured by Delta Health. This supplement contains 100mg of ephedra and 300 mg of caffeine per capsule. This product claims to help you lose weight fast by increasing thermogenesis and fat oxidation during your workouts and also your rest periods. This product also claims to give you an energy boost from it's "Zanthinol" proprietary blend. This blend includes ephedra, amino ethyl phenol and trimethyl xanthine.

BluImpact

BluImpact is a weight loss supplement with 27mg of ephedrine per serving size. This product claims to not cause the jittery feeling that other supplements cause that have more ephedra. BluImpact utilizes a combination formula that includes ephedrine, caffeine and aspirin that it claims is ideal for fast fat burning. BluImpact also claims that it's suite of ingredients works as an appetite suppressant and also an energy booster. BluImpact gets it's ingredients from natural sources. The ephedrine in BluImpact comes from ma huang. The caffeine in BluImpact comes from green tea extract and guarana. The aspirin in BluImpact comes from white willow bark.

Asia Black 25

Asia Black 25 contains 25mg of ephedra as well as caffeine and aspirin. This is a weight loss tablet that also contains chromium, which is important in the breakdown of insulin, according the the U.S. National Library of Medicine. Asia Black 25 claims that the addition of chromium to it's weight loss formula helps your body develop muscle instead of fat with insulin breakdown. There is no scientific evidence to prove this claim. This supplement also contains Hoodia and vitamins B6 and B12. The FDA does not support the use of any product that contains ephedra.
