Bearable training means engaging in exercise methods where you are working against your own body weight or cords that are connected to some type of weights or resistance. Muscle-Fitness-Tips.net reports that there are many benefits to doing resistance training, including building lean muscles, increasing or maintaining your muscle fibers, increasing your strength, helping slow down the aging process, preventing injuries, lowering blood pressure, increasing your metabolism and helping to build bones and prevent osteoporosis.

Perfect Pushup

Perfect Pushup is a home exercise device designed to minimize the stress on your shoulders while doing pushups, yet still maximize the results. It consists of two “spinning handles atop a stationary coaster-shaped disc on the floor,” according to Popular Mechanics. Your hands and arms rotate 90 degrees as you lower down in the pushup movement, and then they rotate back as you push back up to the starting position. Popular Mechanics reports that the Perfect Pushup improves an already invaluable body resistance exercise. Alden Mills, who is a former Navy SEAL, invented Perfect Pushup in order to expand the muscle groups that a pushup works and strengthens and provide a more comprehensive exercise.

Resistance Bands

A resistance band is a long, thin rubber tube with handles on both ends. They are used for many different functions within the fitness industry and they come in different variations of resistance. The Fit Sugar website reports that resistance bands are an inexpensive yet effective way to tone and strengthen your muscles. The benefits include improving coordination and balance and targeting specific muscle groups. Resistance bands add depth to basic moves like squats, allowing you to make the move slightly more difficult and improve results. Fit Sugar reports that resistance bands are also ideal for mimicking sport-specific movements, such as punching, kicking, pedaling or even something like the movement of a tennis swing. Resistance bands are lightweight and travel well, making it easy for you to fit a workout in wherever you are.

Total Gym

Total Gym is a home exercise system that gained notoriety through infomercials with Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley. The Peer Trainer website reports that Total Gym is a device that operates on a pulley system. Peer Trainer says, “you sit on the platform and hold onto the handles and pull your body weight up and down.” The intensity level is adjustable. Peer Trainer says that the exercise device is very easy to use and assembly takes just a few minutes. Total Gym is versatile in that there are adjustments for warming up, increasing flexibility, core strength and building all-over fitness.
