Jojoba oil comes from a shrub that grows in the desert and is a natural moisturizing agent for hair and skin. Those afflicted with acne need to find products that are noncomedogenic, such as jojoba oil. According to website Carefair.com, jojoba oil works well for acne prone skin because it helps balance out the body's oil production and has antibacterial properties. Benzamycin uses a combination of erythromycin and benzoyl peroxide, in topical gel form, to treat infection. MayoClinic.com states you can continue to use cosmetics and moisturizers at the same time as benzamycin. By combining these two treatments, you may avoid some drying effects of the antibiotic gel and reduce skin irritation.

Step 1

Wash your face with a mild cleanser once or twice daily. Apply the cleanser directly to hands and avoid using a washcloth. If possible, leave your face wet, as the water will help moisturize skin.

Step 2

Apply an antibacterial soap to your hands and wash them thoroughly before touching anything else.

Step 3

Pour a small amount of jojoba oil, just enough to cover skin, into the palm of one hand. Rub hands together to spread the oil onto both hands.

Step 4

Pat hands, covered with the oil, onto the face. Avoid rubbing or massaging the oil in, as this will further irritate the skin. Wash hands after application with an antibacterial soap.

Step 5

Wait 30 minutes to 1 hour before applying the benzamycin gel to skin. Follow the instructions provided with the prescription for preparation and dosage.

Step 6

Clean your hands again with the antibacterial soap before touching the benzamycin. Pour the appropriate amount of the gel into the palm of one hand.

Step 7

Dab the benzamycin gel onto affected areas. Do not just treat the blemishes. Treat the skin around them as well to kill all bacteria. Wash hands immediately after application with an antibacterial soap.
