Celebrating a birthday in Seattle is not limited to just one thing. This city offers a variety of ways to spend your special day. Hang out at a ball game or take in the sights. Enjoy the fine art offered in this area or explore someplace new. The options here are many.

The Space Needle

The Space Needle is one of the most well known landmarks in Seattle and offers a variety of things to do. Celebrate your birthday by dining at the Sky City Restaurant. After dessert, head to the observation deck to view the city of Seattle in a new way. SkyQ offers five interactive kiosks for exploring the city in real time. Head to the Space Base gift shop and get yourself a gift to finish off the day.

Museums

For the Sci-Fi lover, the Experience Music Project Science Fiction Museum has several exhibits. In 2010, the Battlestar Galactica: Exhibition is available for visiting. The exhibit features life size spaceship props and other items used in the series. For more reserved taste, Seattle's Art Museum provides a chance to view the work of Picasso. You can also view the Olympic Sculpture Park and the Seattle Asian Art Museum.

Nightlife

Take in a live music show at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley in Seattle. Dimitriou's received the "Best Jazz Club" in Seattle award from both Editor's and Audience Choice. Ertha Kitt, David Sanborn and Tower of Power are among the few to perform nightly. Enjoy northwestern cuisine and a premium wine list while listening to world class jazz and blues.

Outdoor Activities

Celebrate by watching a Mariner's game at Safeco field. For an extra treat, take a birthday tour of the stadium. Adults will see the press box, field dugout and private suites. Birthday tours are available for kids as well. A personal guided tour will take your child and a group of 20 to play at the Seattle Children's Playfield. See a birthday message on the scoreboard from a group suite that overlooks the field. A birthday child also receives a gift from the Mariners.

The Younger Crowd

Children will enjoy spending their birthdays exploring the Pacific Science Center. Explore the all-new 2010 Harry Potter Exhibit where props inspired by the movies abound. In the Mind Bending Mansion, experience strategy puzzles, interactive challenges and brain teasers. Top off by seeing a film in the IMAX, or enjoy a laser light show at the Planetarium. You can also choose a themed birthday party featuring either Weird Science, Astronomy, Butterflies or Dinosaurs. The museum will set up everything for you; just arrive and celebrate.
