Commercial moisturizing hand scrubs feel great, but they can be a pricey item. In only a few minutes, you can make your own hand scrub at home with the same beneficial results at only a fraction of the cost. A hand scrub made with gentle exfoliants and moisturizing oils isn't difficult to make and will remove dead, dry skin cells as it cleanses and hydrates, leaving your hands feeling soft, smooth and revitalized.

Walnut and Castor Oil Scrub

Step 1

Place 1/2 cup of walnut shells into a blender, food processor or coffee grinder. Chop the walnuts into a coarse powder.

Step 2

Pour the chopped walnuts into a bowl and stir in 1 tbsp. jojoba oil, 1 tbsp. castor oil and 1 tsp. warm honey.

Step 3

Massage the walnut and castor oil scrub vigorously into your hands. Rinse with warm water, then apply your regular hand cream or lotion.

Apricot Hand Scrub

Step 1

Place 1/2 cup granulated sugar in a small bowl. Stir in the juice of half a fresh lemon or lime.

Step 2

Add a few tablespoons of apricot oil, just enough to turn the sugar mixture into a thick, spreadable paste. Stir until the oil is completely incorporated into the sugar mixture.

Step 3

Rub the apricot scrub into your hands, then rinse with warm water. Pat your hands dry, then moisturize with a good quality hand lotion or cream.
