People with sensitive skin can have difficulty treating acne blemishes when most of the creams, lotions and soaps contain strong chemicals. These chemicals are designed to dry up acne pustules, but will also irritate and inflame sensitive skin. To treat acne on sensitive skin, a few alternative methods will clear the skin without irritating it.
Cleansers
Use cleansers or soaps designed for sensitive skin types that do not contain perfumes or added chemical ingredients.
Toners
Tone the skin using natural substances that tighten pores and kill bacteria naturally, such as lemon juice or apple cider vinegar.
Moisturizers
Use moisturizers that are formulated for sensitive skin and do not contain comedogenic oils, which could clog pores.
Spot Treatments
Instead of using benzoyl peroxide to dry up acne blemishes, use natural tea tree oil, which clears the skin without inflaming it.
Masks
Apply masks that soothe the skin and reduce redness, such as oatmeal or aloe vera gel.
