Becoming and staying physically fit requires a thoughtful combination of regular aerobic exercise, weight training and stretching. These activities combined form a balanced "fitness triangle" because they work together and provide optimal vitality, strength and flexibility, according to JaneFonda.net. While aerobic exercise instructors motivate people toward cardiovascular health, and yoga or Pilates instructors encourage others to stay limber, strength trainers such as kettlebell instructors teach people how to safely build and maintain muscle while developing overall fitness.

Strength Training

Weight training provides many benefits, including muscle toning and building. People lose muscle automatically due to the effects of aging, according to MayoClinic.com, and typical sedentary lifestyles cause younger people to also lose muscle mass. Strength training helps to prevent loss of muscle and helps to shape the physique proportionately, which improves overall appearance and well-being. With efficient strength training routines using convenient types of weights such as kettlebells, you can train others for complete fitness.

Kettlebells

Kettlebell workouts aren't a new type of free weight training, but a kettlebell is a type of hand weight not too many American fitness enthusiasts are familiar with. Although kettlebells were introduced in America about 2000, according to SWAT Combat Kettlebells, the weights didn't get much attention at first, mostly because people either didn't know exactly what they were or they weren't sure how to use them. However, kettlebell weightlifting has gained attention and momentum, increasing the need for kettlebell instructors.

Kettlebell Instructor Training

Train for kettlebell instruction and certification with a reputable organization such as the American Council on Exercise or International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation. Although kettlebells are convenient and fairly simple to use, people who don't know how to use the weights properly can sustain serious injury. With instructor training, you will learn correct and safe kettlebell movements and applications for group exercise or personal training.

Instructor Training Background

Although it's usually not required, new kettlebell instructors should have a professional fitness background and hold related group or personal fitness certifications, according to the American Council on Exercise. Auditing kettlebell training certification courses is an option through some fitness organizations, but only those officially trained and certified in kettlebell instruction are recognized professionals in the discipline, says ACE. Receive course credits through completion of certifiable instructor training courses.

Martial Arts and Kettlebell Training

Another good place to obtain kettlebell instructor training is through professional martial arts instructors, coaches and athletes. Learn from top kettlebell competitors, such as International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation director of operations Ken Blackburn, who has combined kettlebell and martial arts training techniques to promote total fitness and enhanced athletic performance, according to Bodybuilding.com and IKFF. Start with certified kettlebell teacher certification from the IKFF.

Online Training

Be wary of online kettlebell instructor training. Although you can learn about valid kettlebell techniques and other information online, it's not a substitute for legitimate fitness training like that obtained from recognized professional health and fitness organizations.
