People may not think that bacteria can be a good thing, but there are healthy bacteria that live and regulate the digestive system. Probiotics are live micro-organisms that are considered "good" bacteria. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, antibiotics and infections can disrupt the healthy bacteria in the digestive system. Daily consumption of foods with probiotics can help restore the healthy bacteria in the digestive system.

Yogurt

Not all yogurt brands contain probiotics, according to MSNBC. A "Live Active Culture" label will be printed on the package of those brands that contain probiotics. Some brands that contain probiotics, such as Dannon Activia, claim to regulate the digestive tract when the yogurt is eaten every day for two weeks. Stonyfield Organic Yogurt, Stonyfield Yobaby, which is a yogurt product for older babies, and Lifeway Foods Kefir are products that contain probiotics. Kefir is a drink that is similar to yogurt but contains 10 types of healthy bacteria, whereas yogurt contains only two to three types of healthy bacteria.

Sour Cream and Cottage Cheese

Not all sour cream products and cottage cheese products contain probiotics. Horizon Organic cottage cheese and Horizon Sour Cream are two products that contain these healthy bacteria, according to MSNBC. Horizon Sour Cream contains L. acidophilus and B. bifidus, which are two types of probiotics that help regulate the digestive system. Horizon Organic cottage cheese also contains L. acidophilus and B. bifidus. Horizon Organic cottage cheese also has added calcium back because calcium is lost in the process of making cottage cheese.

Cereal

Probiotics have generally only been found in dairy products, but they are also added to other food products. According to MSNBC, there are two types of cereal that contain probiotics. Kashi Vive Probiotic Digestive Wellness Cereal and YogActive Cereal. Both of these cereals contain L. acidophilus that helps regulate the digestive system. Kashi Vive Probiotic Digestive Wellness Cereal contains 1 billion probiotics. YogActive Cereal contains 15 percent of yogurt clusters that contain the probiotics.
