Trans fat not only leads to weight gain, but also coronary heart disease, cancer, liver toxicity and diabetes. It is a processed fat that is constructed from partially-hydrogenated oils and found in many processed foods and fried foods. It is also used as a less expensive substitute for animal fat and lard. This fat supplies and delivers toxins to the body, leading to digestive problems, fatigue and increased chances of contracting a more serious disease. In addition, it does not have any nutritional benefits.

In order to release all the trans fat toxins from your body, you must cleanse your body with only raw foods so your body can quickly absorb the many nutrients raw food delivers.

Step 1

Obtain a journal for record-keeping on your trans fat flush. Label each page as a day of the week and divide the page into five sections. Label each section as breakfast, snack, lunch, snack and dinner.

Step 2

Create a master food list of raw foods that you enjoy and can consume for four consistent days.

Step 3

Gather raw foods from your food list and create a daily menu for each day of your cleanse. Breakfast should be a citrus fruit, such as grapefruit. Lunch could be a large salad with an array of vegetables. Dinner could be sprouted grains, legumes or lightly-steamed tofu. You may snack on nuts and seeds throughout the day to receive healthy fats and stay energized.

Step 4

Partake in a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole wheat, nuts, seeds and lean protein once your trans fat flush has ended. Continue to record what you are consuming in your food journal to track your progress and note any flaws.

Tips and Warnings

  • It is common for those who are on a raw food cleanse to only consume fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Sprouted grains are another healthy option if you are having difficulty adapting to the cleanse. It is also recommended to refrain from drinking any soda, coffee, tea or processed juices, because they have caffeine and added sugars that can lead to bloating and fatigue, which adds challenges to your flush.
  • Please consult your physician prior to commencing any cleanse, detox or diet. Remember to drink water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
