Fraxel 2 is the second-generation fractional laser therapy treatment, less painful and faster than the first-generation Fraxel laser. Fraxel therapy uses a CO2 laser to repair fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, age spots, sun damage and stretch marks. Fraxel therapy gives you the same benefits as laser skin resurfacing but without the lengthy recovery. According to Westlake Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery, the side effects include swelling and redness and will not deter you from returning to normal activities almost immediately.

Step 1

Take the remainder of the day to rest after your Fraxel 2 laser treatment.

Step 2

Avoid any exercise that requires you to swim in a chlorinated pool for one week.

Step 3

Return to your normal exercise routine one day after a Fraxel 2 refine treatment for minor skin damage repair. Wait one to two days after Fraxel 2 restore treatments for mild skin damage repair. Return to normal activities after one week with Fraxel 2 repair treatments for severe skin damage.

Step 4

Wear a waterproof sunscreen with an SPF 30 or above whose ingredients include 5 percent zinc or titanium, along with a wide brim hat when exercising outdoors.

Things You'll Need

  • SPF 30 sunscreen
  • Wide brim hat
