Overview

Anxiety causes the mind and body to become nervous and fearful of everyday events. Although most people feel anxiety at some point in their lives, some become afflicted with chronic anxiety. There are many ways to treat anxiety naturally.

Tinctures

Tinctures are concentrations of substances that affect the body quickly. The liquid is contained in a glass bottle with a dropper, allowing the user to dispense a specific amount at a time. Tinctures of Kava Kava, chamomile and Valerian root are helpful for anxiety.

Flower Essences

Flower essences are created by taking alcohol or glycerin, and infusing it with certain flowers, bark, stems or roots. Different plants or plant parts have different effects on the nervous system, each one helping alleviate anxiety in a different way.

Herbs

Certain herbs reduce anxiety, such as chamomile, catnip or fennel. They can be taken in supplement form or used in a facial steam.

Teas

Drinking tea can relax the body and nervous system as long as they don't contain caffeine--such as peppermint, Valerian, chamomile or fennel tea.

Homeopathics

Homeopathics are small, round medicines that are created by infusing sugar with elements of substances that are similar to the malady that they are helping. For anxiety, using Aconite would be helpful, as it treats sudden and chronic anxiety.
