If you are not interested in a partner that smokes, drinks and plays pool, then hanging out in a bar does not make much sense. Many people do, however, frequent spots that they would never dream of visiting when they are in relationships.
1. Have a hobby? Join a club for those who share your interest. If you do not have a hobby, this is a good time to start one.
2. Participate in new activities, such as a book club, that encourages discussion.
3. Visit spots that you already frequent during peak hours. You may prefer the solitude of an early morning workout, but you increase your chances of meeting someone who shares your interest in exercising if you work out at a busier time.
4. Volunteer. Whether it is feeding the homeless or walking dogs for the animal shelter, choose a charity that you care about. The benefits will be greater than the possibility of meeting a partner.
5. Vary your routine. It is easy to do the same things and see the same people every day. Even a change as simple as the day and time that you visit the grocery store gives you the opportunity to meet new people.
