The Master Cleanse
The Master Cleanse is a detox diet that is done for at least 10 days and can extend to more than 40 days. In the detox diet you will be drinking between 6 to 12 glasses a day of a special lemonade tonic. The drink consists of fresh squeezed lemon juice, grade B organic maple syrup, cayenne pepper and purified water. The enzymes in the lemon break down waste in the colon while the maple syrup provides the energy and minerals you need while detoxing. Cayenne pepper helps break up the mucus and accelerates the detoxification process. In addition to drinking the lemonade mixture, you will be drinking an herbal laxative tea to promote intestinal contractions that aid in elimination.
The Raw Food Detox Diet
In "The Raw Food Detox Diet," Natalia Rose aims to bring you back to eating more natural, whole foods. The modern Western diet is filled with processed foods that have unnatural food additives. Our digestive system does not recognize these substances and therefore cannot eliminate them. The detox program promotes the intake of more fruits and vegetables. It goes even further by adding in more whole grains, reducing the amount of saturated fats and including more lean protein sources. Rose says to eat these foods in their natural, whole state because heating and cooking them kills the enzymes and nutrients our body needs for overall health.
The Detox Strategy
In "The Detox Strategy," the author outlines a program to detoxify the body in five steps. The program encourages the body to eliminate toxins in order to improve your health status. The diet aims to help you achieve your ideal weight, gain energy, rejuvenate the mind and reverse the signs of aging. The detox program includes exercise or another form of physical activity during the body's detoxification process.
