The Lifestyler 10.0 features a 2.0 horsepower motor and has a speed range of up to 10 mph. You can incline the treadmill using the step control knob located on the right foot rail. You can still find Lifestyler treadmills on websites that sell used fitness equipment.

Step 1

Install batteries in the console. The console requires two "AA" batteries. Slide the battery cover open on the back of the console. Remove the battery clip. Insert two fresh "AA" batteries. Replace the clip and close the battery cover.

Step 2

Turn the Lifestyler 10.0 treadmill on. Step onto the treadmill, placing your feet on the foot rails to the side of the walking belt. Attach the safety clip to your clothing. Insert the safety key into the power switch on the console.

Step 3

Start your workout. Stand on the treadmill's foot rails. Move the speed control knob located on the console to the "Reset" position. Turn the knob slowly clockwise. Step onto the belt when it begins moving at a slow speed. Adjust the speed during your workout by turning the speed control knob to the right to increase your speed or to the left to decrease it.

Step 4

Adjust the incline by pressing one of two incline adjustment knobs. To increase the incline of the walking deck, stand on the foot rails near the back of the treadmill. Use your right foot to press down on the incline button located on the right foot rail. To decrease the incline, stand on the foot rails near the front of the treadmill. Use your right foot to press the forward incline knob located on the right foot rail.

Step 5

Measure your heart rate. Plug the included pulse ear clip into the jack on the console. Attach the other end of the ear clip to your left ear lobe. Attach the metal clothes clip onto your collar. Your heart rate will display on the console within a few seconds.

Step 6

Stop your workout. Turn the speed control knob all the way to the left, to the "Reset" position.

Step 7

Turn off your Lifestyler 10.0 treadmill. Remove the safety key from the console.
