How Does the Hollywood Diet Work?

The Hollywood Diet is a short-term weight-loss solution that involves drinking all-natural fruit juice for a period of 24 to 48 hours. To begin, a dieter selects the 24- or 48-hour Hollywood Diet plan. The dieter then purchases a supply of the Hollywood Diet juice to drink for the allotted time period. The 24-hour juice contains all-natural ingredients, cranberry, apple, raspberry, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry juice as well as additional vitamins and minerals. The 48-hour juice is similar, but also contains pineapple, orange, apricot and banana purees. The typical calorie count for a day on the Hollywood Diet is around 400 calories per day.
Dieters cannot eat any solid foods while on the Hollywood Diet, but they may take supplements in order to compensate for lost nutrients. A person consumes four servings of the juice in small sips over the course of one to two days. Additionally, dieters drink eight glasses of water and avoid toxins, such as alcohol, caffeine or tobacco.

Detoxifying Action

The juices contained within the Hollywood Diet drink are high in fiber, which has detoxifying properties to the body. The drink and the absence of other solid foods helps to push waste through the colon and digestive system, which can result in weight loss. However, this loss is chiefly due to waste build up in the body and not actual weight lost. While a person may lose weight initially and quickly, once she commences eating solid foods again, it is likely this waste will once again build up.

Frequency of Use

In addition to a tool that provides fast weight loss--typically for events--the Hollywood Diet label recommends using the drinks once a month as a detoxifying agent. By removing waste from the body and replacing these with high-antioxidant fruit juices, the Hollywood Diet boosts the amount of inflammation-fighting chemicals in the body. The effects of this can range from clearing the skin, reducing headaches, boosting energy or improving memory.
The recommendation for dieters following the diet is that they begin to cut back on other toxic foods they may have previously eaten, such as sugar, white flour, fatty foods or greasy foods. By doing this, Hollywood Diet followers can build on the previous weight loss success.
