Protein powders, such as those from Designer Whey, make it easier to consume the necessary amount of protein you need to lose weight and increase your muscle mass. Two scoops of Designer Whey contain more protein than 3 oz. of chicken breast. Include Designer Whey in your shakes and recipes to help you reach your fat-loss and muscle-building goals. Use skim milk in your shakes if your primary goal is to build muscle. Use water if your main goal is to lose weight. If you are running short on time, quickly whip up a shake instead of cooking a meal.

Step 1

Blend 1.5 scoops of Designer Whey protein powder with 1 cup of ice-cold milk and half a chopped apple for a pre-workout shake. Drink this shake 30 minutes before every weight training workout, fueling your body with fast-digesting carbohydrates and protein to enhance protein building, according to a 2010 article by Tim Ziegenfuss, Ph.D., and his colleagues, published in the "Strength and Conditioning Journal."

Step 2

Measure 2.5 scoops of Designer Whey protein powder into a sandwich bag. Cut half of a banana and slice it into quarters. Peel an orange, separating and halving each slice. Place both fruits in a sandwich bag then freeze. Pour 1 cup of skim milk and 1 cup of water into a plastic water bottle; place this in the freezer 1.5 hours before heading to the gym. Pack your cold components with an ice pack in a mini, portable cooler. Put your cooler and a portable blender and cup duo in your gym bag. After your workout, blend your Designer Whey powder, liquids and fruits in your blender. Drink your shake immediately.

Step 3

Mix chocolate-flavored Designer Whey weight control powder with water for an approximately 350 calorie meal replacement shake. Combine 1.5 scoops of powder, 1 cup of water, 1 tbls. of natural peanut butter and o1 tbls. of ground flaxseed for a chocolate-peanut butter meal.

Step 4

Whip up a fruit smoothie snack. Combine 1 scoop of vanilla-flavored Designer Whey with yogurt, berries and enough skim milk to make a slushy drink you can sip with a straw. Use mango, kiwi and bananas for a tropical treat.

Step 5

Add Designer Whey powder to your favorite oatmeal, granola bar mix or yogurt to increase the number of grams of protein in your dish. Replace 1/4 cup of your pancake mix with natural-flavored Designer Whey protein powder to further enhance your protein consumption.
