The Weight Watchers diet and lifestyle plan offers a variety of foods and snacks to help dieters stay satisfied and on track. Each day, a dieter is allotted a specific number of points to help him meet his individual weight-loss goals. Several snacks, desserts and soups fall into the zero points-value category. Just do not think that the zero-points label gives permission to overindulge. Portion control is vital, even with zero-point foods.
Fruits and Vegetables
A variety of fruits and vegetables are on the Weight Watchers zero points list. One kiwi fruit, three passion fruits and 1 cup of bitter melon all contain no points. Dieters can enjoy 1 cup of spinach, lettuce or tomatoes without adding any points to the overall meal. Remember to monitor portions and limit additives like butter or margarine, which add flavor, but also contribute fat and calories.
Zero Points-Value Vegetable Soup
This filling homemade soup from the chefs at the Weight Watchers kitchens contains zero points per serving. You will need garlic, onions, carrots, sweet red pepper, celery, cabbage, assorted vegetables, Swiss chard, broth and seasonings. The Weight Watchers website has the complete recipe. If you don't have time to prepare your own soup, Weight Watchers has partnered with Progresso Soups to offer a line of zero point-value soups. Just remember portion control, as many cans contain at least two servings.
Sugar-Free Gelatins
Sugar-free, fruit-flavored gelatin snacks can be enjoyed guilt-free and point-free. Whipped topping can be added for an additional 1 point, provided the topping is fat-free. Gelatin comes in a number of flavors and fruits like apples, oranges and gapes can be added to the mixture as it sets up and solidifies in the refrigerator.
Pickles
Pickle spears are a crunchy, salty snack. A single spear has as few as 5 calories, and you can have up to four pickle spears, or up to 20 calories worth of your favorite pickle, and still not add any points to your daily point tally. Adding pickle slices to your favorite sandwich is a way to add flavor without adding points to the meal.
