How to Get Rid of Milia on My Face

Milia are tiny white bumps on your skin. This condition can occur at any age but is much more prevalent among infants. According to the experts at the MayoClinic.com more than half of infants develop milia. Milia develop when skin flakes are trapped in tiny pockets near the outer layers of the skin. According to the experts at MayoClinic.com, most milia resolve without treatment.

Step 1

Wash your or your child's face with warm water. Repeat this procedure daily.

Step 2

Dry your skin gently. Make sure not to rub the skin raw especially if milia are present on an infant.

Step 3

Do not scrub or pinch the milia on the skin.

Step 4

Consult your doctor if the milia do not resolve on their own in a few weeks time. He may recommend cutting the milia open using sterile instruments, applying topical treatments or using microdermabrasion.
