SuperPretzels are frozen prebaked soft pretzels that you buy in boxes at the market, then reheat at home in the microwave or oven. Like other pretzels, SuperPretzels are low in fat and cholesterol but high in carbohydrates. They can also be high in sodium, depending on how much salt you sprinkle on top of them.
Calories, Fat and Cholesterol
Each SuperPretzel contains 180 calories, only 10 of which come from fat. Individual pretzels have 1 g of total fat each, with no saturated fat, trans fat or monounsaturated fat but 0.5 g of polyunsaturated fat. The pretzels have 0 mg of cholesterol.
Carbohydrate, Fiber and Protein
One SuperPretzel will give you 38 g of carbohydrate or 13 percent of your recommended daily value. Of this total carbohydrate, 1 g is sugars and 1 g is dietary fiber. The pretzels are relatively low in fiber, therefore, with only 4 percent of what you need each day. Each pretzel also contains 6 g of protein.
Sodium
As with any pretzels, sodium is an issue with SuperPretzels. The basic pretzel contains 150 mg or 6 percent of your recommended daily value of sodium. But use the enclosed salt pack to sprinkle 1/2 tsp. of salt on top and the sodium content shoots up to 1,090 mg -- 39 percent of your daily value.
Other Vitamins and Minerals
SuperPretzels contain no vitamin A, vitamin C or calcium. But one SuperPretzel does provide you with 10 percent of your recommended daily value of iron, another important nutrient.
