Ballroom dancers Jaana Kunitz and Julia Powers combine dance with fitness moves in the Core Rhythms DVD series. The exercises are designed to tone your core as well as offer fat-burning cardio. The series has a beginner's DVD that breaks down Latin dance moves, as well as DVDs that target specific areas. Most of the workouts begin with a five- to eight-minute warm-up and end with a 10-minute cooldown and run for 45 minutes.
Samba Fusion
The Samba Fusion DVD in the Core Rhythms workout targets your abdominals without a crunch. Kunitz and Powers teach basic samba moves in an exaggerated way to emphasis abdominal and core engagement. This workout begins with a simple warm-up and moves into more complicated Latin dance moves, such as the samba. This workout is low-impact cardiovascular, keeping it easy on your joints.
Swing Sensation
The Swing Sensation Core Rhythms DVD focuses on your lower body. This high-energy cardiovascular workout uses higher impact swing style moves incorporated with Latin hip movements to engage your buttocks, thighs and legs. The workout begins with an eight-minute dance warm-up that breaks down some of the basic steps, then moves into a fast-paced workout that lasts 35 minutes and ends with a 10-minute cooldown.
Latin Synergy
