History

The Blizzard Ski company produced its first model of snow skis in 1945. The Blizzard Ski company was originally a European based company that did not export goods to the U.S. According to Blizzard Ski, Blizzard released its first racing model of skis, known as the Firebird, in 1973. Mittersill, Austria, houses the international headquarters of the Blizzard Ski company. Blizzard Ski USA has taken over the production of Blizzard skiing equipment in the United States. West Lebanon, New Hampshire, is home to the Blizzard Ski USA headquarters.

Types

Blizzard Ski manufactures various types of skis to permit riders to partake in the different genres of skiing. The racing skis from Blizzard have a design built for smooth downhill racing courses. The mountain skis from Blizzard allow you to adjust to the varying difficulty levels of skiing slopes. The big mountain skis from Blizzard enable you to remain stabilized while riding through the fresh snow of backwoods trails. Blizzard offers skis for male and female riders as well as a junior series for up-and-coming skiers.

Features

The racing models of skis feature a lightweight core composed of magnesium and wood, according to Blizzard Ski. Other materials utilized in the construction of the Blizzard ski core include titanium and carbon fiber. The patented Power Frame of the Blizzard ski allows you to dig into the snow as you perform sharp turns and maneuvers. The Twin Tip models from Blizzard feature an elevated front and back tip that enables you to ride backward without catching your skis in the snow.

Size

The racing ski models from Blizzard have a length that fluctuates between 4 to 6 feet. According to Blizzard Ski, the Magnum model of mountain skis have a length that ranges from around 5 to 6 feet. The junior series from Blizzard are built to fit the shorter stature of young skiers. The shortest junior skis from Blizzard have a length of just more than 2 feet, while the tallest measure in at just less than 5 feet.

The Blizzard racing ski models are designed to reach top speeds more than 30 mph.
