Vibration exercise equipment has recently become a hot ticket item in the realm of health and fitness. The vibration technology began with a Soviet program for training Olympic athletes and cosmonauts. Using vibrating platforms to artificially super-compensate for the future loss of gravity lead to profound improvements in muscle and bone strength as observed in the Soviet studies. Modern tools have been developed that utilize this technology and can support your fitness efforts.
Step 1
Visit a dealer of vibration equipment. Stand on the machines and execute actual exercises to verify the size and durability of the machines. Different plate sizes exist from one machine to the next, so compare the plates and the overall sizes of the machines when considering your choices.
Step 2
Verify the warranty of the machines as the high intensity of vibration that is used in these machines requires sound construction and strong materials. If a cheaper brand uses cheaper alternatives, it may have a limited warranty. Determine whether the warranty offered by either the retailer or the actual manufacturer is substantial.
Step 3
Determine the style of operation the machine utilizes for the vibration settings. Three mechanism styles usually exist on modern vibrating machines: oscillating, tri-planer, and horizontal. The horizontal vibration plates move in a horizontal plane, which is not as beneficial as the oscillating and tri-planer styles. These vibration plates move both horizontally and vertically to support the natural motions of the body.
Step 4
Listen to the machines as you use them and test the machines by doing more aggressive movements such as squats or lunges. Notice any sounds the machine makes when these pressures are applied to it. If you notice any straining or faulty noises, ask the sales clerk what you are hearing. Also, observe if the noise seems too loud for your comfort level and enjoyment. Many cheaper vibrating machines have poor constructed components that may rattle when pressure is applied to them.

Read the manuals and set-up instructions for each machine. Verify the weight load that is recommended for the machine and read the assembly instructions. If the machine will neither support you nor a loved one who intends to use the machine, consider another option. If assembly seems impossible for you, consider hiring help or look for a model that will be easier to build.
