The ProForm 590T treadmill is a fitness device designed for use in the home and suitable for the intermediate to advanced user. The treadmill's features include a 2.22 continuous horsepower motor, a cushioned running deck, a maximum incline setting of 10 percent and a maximum belt speed of 10 mph. The base unit on the 590T comes preassembled; however, before the device will be ready for use, you must first attach the console unit with a pair of uprights.
Step 1
Spread out a blanket or large towel next to the left side of the treadmill's base. Tilt the base onto its left side, then screw the base feet onto the underside of the base. Affix the right base cap and right base wheel to the right side of the base.
Step 2
Feed the upright wire through the right upright spacer and the hole located at the bottom end of the right upright. Attach the upright to the base with patch bolts, star washers and bolt spacers.
Step 3
Return the base to an upright position and spread the blanket or towel next to the right side of the device, then tilt the base onto its right side. Affix the left base cap and left base wheel to the left side of the base. Attach the left upright spacer and left upright to the base with patch bolts, star washers and bolt spacers. Return the base to an upright position.
Step 4
Fit an upright cover over each upright. Fit the tabbed end of the left handrail into the upper end of the left upright; bolt the handrail to the upright. Feed the upright wire through the bottom end of the right handrail, then bolt the handrail to the upright.
Step 5
Flip the console unit over and remove the screws securing the crossbar in place. Remove the crossbar from the console, then screw the ends of the crossbar onto the handrails. Insert the ends of the crossbar frame into the openings on the rear of each handrail. Secure the frame to the handrails with bolts, but do not tighten the bolts completely.
Step 6
Position the console unit over the upright assembly. Connect the wires dangling from the console unit to those protruding from the upright assembly. Secure the console unit to the crossbar with screws, then tighten the loose bolts on the upright assembly. Screw the console clamps onto the underside of the console unit.
Step 7
Lift the upright covers upward and use screws to secure them to the top end of each upright. Lift the treadmill's deck to the storage position, then bolt the storage latch and latch knob to the underside of the deck. Lower the deck.
