Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is critical to incorporate into a hair preserving and regaining routine for women. Apple cider vinegar is full of nutrients such as B vitamins and an array of minerals. It also contains alpha hydroxy acids and regulates the pH levels in the scalp. These benefits combine to balance the scalp and clear away dead skin cells that are clogging hair follicles and preventing growth.
Make an apple cider vinegar hair rinse to use twice a week by combining one cup of apple cider vinegar with one cup of water. Pour over the head in the shower, allow to absorb into the scalp for five minutes and shampoo hair as usual. This hair rinse will help to clarify the scalp, regain lost hair and prevent the growth of thin and brittle hair.
Iron
Incorporate 50mg of iron into your daily diet along with 100mg of vitamin C. Prevention's book, "Healing with Vitamins: the Most Effective Vitamin and Mineral Treatments for Everyday Health Problems and Serious Disease," says an iron deficiency is linked to hair loss, and vitamin C helps ensure iron absorption in the body. Foods that are rich in iron are red meats, fish and fortified cereals and breads.
Rosemary Oil
Rosemary boosts circulation in the scalp and encourages growth. When combined with olive oil, it treats dandruff and prevents hair loss. To make a rosemary hair oil, combine 3 tbsp. of dried rosemary leaves in 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil. Heat the oil in the microwave for one minute and set the oil mixture aside for two days. When two days have passed, strain out the solid rosemary leaves from the olive oil and apply it to the scalp. Cover your head with a shower cap and let the oil absorb into the scalp overnight.
Wash hair as usual the next morning. When drying hair, blot it gently with a towel. Rubbing your hair with a towel can lead to more hair loss in women.
Flaxseed Oil
Flaxseed oil is a natural way to boost circulation in the scalp when applied topically. Hair loss in women can originate from poor circulation and blood flow in the scalp. Puncture four capsules of flaxseed oil and massage into the scalp. Allow to soak on the scalp for 30 to 45 minutes and wash hair as usual.
A daily massage will also help to encourage hair growth and prevent hair loss by increasing circulation and blood flow on a regular basis.
