Act II is one of several makers of microwave popcorn, and the company offers a vast product line. Here is the nutritional information for the original butter-flavored Act II popcorn.

Serving Size

The stated serving size for Act II microwaveable butter popcorn is 4.5 cups of popped popcorn. Each bag of popcorn contains about 2.5 servings, according to the nutrition label. You must keep the serving size in mind when considering the popcorn's effects on your diet, the U.S. Department of Agriculture advises. Your portion may be much larger than the stated serving size. For example, if you eat an entire bag of popcorn you will have to multiply all the nutritional values by 2.5 to see its full effect on your diet.

Calories

Each serving of Act II Butter Popcorn contains 160 calories and half -- 80 -- come from fat. Calories are a representation of a food's energy content, according to the Food and Drug Administration. How many calories you should eat in a day will depend on your age, weight, activity level and whether you are trying to lose or maintain your weight. If you follow a 2,000-calorie diet, each serving of popcorn equates to 8 percent of your total daily caloric intake.

Fat

A serving of buttered popcorn contains 9 g of total fat, which is 14 percent of the maximum recommended daily intake if you eat 2,000 calories a day. The fat in the popcorn includes 4 g of saturated fat -- 20 percent of the maximum recommended intake. It does not contain any trans fat or cholesterol. The USDA Dietary Guidelines recommend that total fat intake be limited to 65 g or less if you follow a 2,000-calorie diet. Saturated fat intake should not exceed one-third of your total fat intake.

Sodium

Each serving of Act II popcorn contains 310 mg of sodium, which is equal to 13 percent of the maximum daily intake recommendation. Remember, too, that the sodium value only includes the salt content in the bag and not any additional salt you add. A quarter-teaspoon of salt contains 590 mg of sodium. Daily sodium intake should be limited to 2,400 mg or less to prevent against serious health conditions such as hypertension.

Carbohydrates

A 4.5-cup serving of Act II Butter Popcorn contains 18 g of total carbohydrates, which is 6 percent of the recommended daily intake if you eat 2,000 calories a day. The popcorn contains 3 g of dietary fiber per serving, equal to 12 percent of the recommended intake.

Protein

Many of the foods you eat in a given day will contain at least a small amount of protein, popcorn included. A serving of the Act II popcorn contains 3 g of protein. Protein is abundant in the typical American diet and because of this, the Dietary Guidelines do not include firm recommendations for protein intake, the FDA reports.

Vitamins and Minerals

You probably aren't turning to microwave popcorn to boost your intake of essential vitamins and minerals, but you'll get small amounts with every serving. The Act II popcorn contains 4 percent of the recommended daily intake for iron in every serving.
